What is your thumbprint?

June 2019

By Sandra Macleod

In the quest for transforming organizations to be more relevant, more engaging, more impactful, I had the great pleasure of interviewing Helle Bank Jørgensen, founder and CEO of Competent Boards Inc., last night in Amsterdam at the 2019 Page International Exchange. Helle advocates using the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as part of Vision 2030 as a framework to question and support organizations on a path to better alignment around meaningful purpose. As an accountant and lawyer, Helle believes that this provides the common language to engage with boards and the ability to consider impacts above silos and ensure essential consistency and resiliency.

To this point, this new report in Accountancy Europe explores the issues around changing the business model through to making board composition fit for (renewed) purpose, rethinking the role of regulators and building in ESG performance into remuneration.

To mix metaphors, every organization's 'foot print' is different. So it's not one size fits all - it's what you do with it that makes each organization's 'thumb print' unique.
